Ok. We haven't moved yet. Now it is time to put Anna back into school and I am not happy with our school system at all.
Her teacher from last year isn't going to be there this year. Her class room had 7 kids in it w/one teacher and one aide and an assitant but they weren't trained professionals.
Her class room last year was chaotic and two of the kids in her class demanded round the clock care. One because of CP and one because of behavior issues.
Last year I only let Anna go 3 days a week for 1/2 a day and her teacher kept asking me to increase it. I didn't want to tell her that I didn't want to because her class room didn't seem safe to me. I didn't see Anna getting any types of special teaching. Other than typical preschool things like cutting and pasting and stories and so forth.
SO this year I am raising a little 'heck' becasue I need help w/Anna but I honestly dislike what the county program is like. They only have one speech therapist in the school and she tends to ALL kids not just special needs. Mostly she deals w/pronouncing words and not expressive speech. Not to mention we were left high and dry during the summer. Would it be so hard to employ more qualified staff w/special training. Plains didn't even have a bus or van for its kids, it was the aid who drove her vehicle to to get the kids. SO if they had a feild trip then parents needed to drive.
I am not looking foward to putting Anna back into that class. Yet, I know Anna needs the extra help. I can't afford anything on my own. SSI isn't coming through for us.
I am done venting. (:
