Hello, I am Jenn Parr, and I live with my husband and four daughters in Waynesboro. My two youngest daughters have diagnoses of Autism. Their names are Ashlyn (5) and Loryn (2). Ashlyn spent a year in Waynesboro's special ed preschool program, and we were not thrilled. The teacher was wonderful, but there was no way she was getting the attention she needed in a room where she was only 1 of 2 autistic children, other children had very different issues/problems. I had been homeschooling her older sisters (Shelby, 11 and Tori, 7), so the decision to homeschool Ashlyn this year was a pretty easy one. Because we've got *2* with Autism, and because we're pretty busy with homeschool stuff anyway, I'm not able to get to many meetings or get-togethers. I'm *hoping* to change that! I think it's SO important for us parents to be able to talk about what's going on with our kids...even my best friend just doesn't get it...it's a "Been there, done that" situation, for sure!
