I agree. It is so important to keep humor in situations like this. Recently I had a women in a store stop to talk to my duaghter and she was persistant. She kept trying to get a response from my daughter until I told her that my daughter wasn't being rude but just couldn't respond because of having mild autism. The poor lady didn't know what to say or do and her quick retreat made it clear she wasn't prepared for what I had said. I probably shouldn't have found that funny but something about the whole kit and kaboodall just made me laugh. Normally I don't tell strangers about my daughters diagnosis but in the case of this lady she wouldn't stop talking so I was blunt. ( :
